The mattress relieves pressure on the body by sequentially deflating and inflating alternate air cells on approximately 12 minutes timed intervals. It is intended to help and reduce the incidence of pressure ulcers while optimizing patient comfort, long term care of patients suffering from pressure ulcers. The cell-type is suggested for stage 2 – 4. The 2 to 1 alternating inflation method is inflating of the cells and deflating the other.
